Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, a Canadian-American singer and songwriter. Over 20 albums have been made available by her. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk-rock and alternative rock although it has additional elements of punk, funk, hip hop and jazz. Ani Difranco is considered to be a feminist legend as well as a Grammy award winner. In the beginning, as one of the women's first artists of the 1990s, DiFranco created her own record label. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23 1970 her parents Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco The couple had made acquaintance while studying at an institution called the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was of Italian origin as was her mother from Montreal. Ani diFranco wrote and performed the song 32 Flavors. The track is part of her album Not a Pretty Girl, which was her sixth studio album. It was featured on the soundtrack of 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a variant of this track. DiFranco made an apology public in 2013 after it emerged that she had set up a three-day workshop in an Louisiana plantation. The majority of us (including us) were not impressed by her decision. DiFranco issued an additional apology only a few days following. Although known for her role as Little Peoplesinger, she has been in contact with a myriad of musicians and artists from Pete Seeger through Chuck D until Prince. New Orleans is her home. Ani DiFranco lives with Kristen Ford. She started writing songs when she was 14 years old. She sang them in bars and coffee shops throughout her teenage years. DiFranco completed her studies at her Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts high school when she was 16 and started attending classes at Buffalo State College.
